Linnaeus
Owned and operated by Riversun Nursery Limited, Linnaeus laboratory was established in 1999 to support the development of the company's vine-health certification programme. Under the technical direction of the late Dr Roderick Bonfiglioli, the laboratory implemented new diagnostics to detect grapevine viruses – particularly Grapevine Leafroll-associated Virus 3 (GLRaV-3), which spreads rapidly and causes significant commercial damage. Today, Linnaeus offers ELISA testing for GLRaV-1, 2, and 3 as well as GVA, and conducts all the laboratory tests required for certifying the high-health status of nursery stocks.
